Hidden Camera In Girl's Bedroom
Thursday, February 12, 2009
A Kingston man entered a guilty plea Wednesday in Ulster County court for installing a hidden camera in the bedroom of a 12-yer-old girl. Ulster County District Attorney Holley Carnright says 47 year old Joseph Leech, formerly of Tenbroeck Avenue, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of unlawful surveillance in the second degree as a felony. Leech, who was a family friend, hooked up a motion activated camera and recorded and saved nude images of the girl in her bedroom onto his laptop. The camera was hidden in a CD player he gave the girl as a gift. Leech, who will be sentenced next week, was arrested in June 2008 after an investigation by the Ulster county Family Violence Unit.
